The earthquake hit at 1:47 p.m. Hawaii Time off the coast of northern Chile, according to the center. The enter noted there is a possibility of a watch or warning issued for Hawaii.

If the tsunami waves impact Hawaii the earliest arrival time is 3:24 a.m. Wednesday.
